Model Management - VAMOS’17

Bart Theelen

Now that model-based approaches are being adopted by industry to replace traditional document-based approaches during the complete product line life-cycle, the diversity and vast amount of models urges for model (life-cycle) management.

In the context of the Ecsel project Enable-S3, Bart Theelen pitched the main requirements for model management at VAMOS’17 in the context of validating, verifying and testing variants of interventional X-ray systems in their hospital environments using virtual prototypes.

The approach to model management that is being developed together with our partners Philips and TU/e relies on using (evolving) reference architectures and feature models to organize, relate and configure/instantiate virtual prototypes for different validation, verification and test purposes and to ensure consistent co-evolution during the complete product line life-cycle.
