Webinar 3: 15h30-17h00 CET

Intelligent diagnostics

As high tech systems evolve, the potential number of failures grows exponentially. At the same time, we expect our systems to be producing 24/7. That puts high demands on diagnosability of these high tech systems: if they fail, one needs to find the error quickly to minimize loss of production or service. In this webinar we will give an overview of the field of intelligent diagnostics, both from the industrial point of view and from the research side: what has been achieved, what is needed in the foreseeable future.

The Value of Intelligent Diagnostics

Dr Steve P. King CEng, FIET, FIMA
Senior Lecturer – Analytics, School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing, IVHM Centre

Monitoring of complex systems such as those associated with aviation, power-generation or manufacturing processes, has seen significant changes moving from a maintenance policy of ‘fix when broken’ to ‘on-condition maintenance’.

Although set in the context of monitoring high-integrity assets, this presentation will explore the role of advanced analytics to support intelligent diagnostics with the aim of maintaining availability of high-valued service operation. The presentation will also touch on some of the factors that influence different maintenance approaches and their solutions.

Work processes, organisation and tools for asset condition monitoring and energy management

Kim Alexander Jørgensen
Lundin Energy Norway

Lundin Energy Norway is an independent oil and gas exploration and production company. The company is currently operating the Edvard Grieg platform 200km offshore in the Northsea. The platform has a conventional oil-gas-water separation and stabilisation process with pipeline export to shore. The installation was commissioned in 2015 andt he daily production is 23.000Sm3 of oil and 3mill Sm3 of gas. The maintenance philosophy of this assets is predominantly condition based, and the operations is supported by an extensive controls and information management system. Lundin Energy Norway will give a presentation of the work processes, organisation and tools enabling condition based maintenance and energy management
