Managing the complexity of highly- digitalized systems requires the building and appliacation of knowledge across disciplines, application domains, value- and supply-chains, stakeholders, regions and technology readiness levels. ESI organizes and sits at the heart of an ecosystem of renowned (multi-)national high-tech enterprises, SMEs, public organizations and leading academic research groups. Our network represents a unique platform for open innovation that facilitates research cooperation and knowledge exchange across stakeholders. The core of this network is formed by the Dutch companies and universities represented in the ESI partner board.

ESI is part of a semi-formal international network of leading research institutes in the area of system architecting and systems engineering methodologies.

ESI continues to foster this ecosystem through the organization of various national and international networking activities, international research projects and of course the execution of its research program with its academic and industrial partners.
