ESI's strategic direction and research program are defined in close consultation with the ESI partner board in which the ESI partners are represented. The ESI partners contribute financially to ESI and benefit from ESI in three major ways:
1. Knowledge multiplier
Knowledge and methodologies developed and validated in research projects with one industrial partner are made available to all partners for reuse and as a basis for further extension and refinement
2. Ecosystem multiplier
Partners gain access to the combined local supplier and knowledge networks of each individual company, enriched with the international academic and industrial network of ESI
3. Financial multiplier
ESI provides access to public research funding which complements their private investments in public-private partnership R&I projects, developing novel methodologies that are immediately applied in relevant industrial contexts.
